Denver requires tree companies to be licensed by the Office of the City Forester, and removals or major pruning of street trees — those in the tree lawn between sidewalk and curb — require a city permit. We handle permitting as part of the job rather than leaving it to you.
Private backyard trees do not require a permit, but the same standards apply to how they are pruned.
Working narrow lots and alleys
On a 25-foot lot there is no drop zone. Limbs are rigged and lowered piece by piece over the fence line, brush is carried to the alley chipper, and the truck stays out of your neighbor's parking. We pull permits for lane closure when a crane or bucket needs the street.
Sidewalks and driveways are matted, and we sweep the alley as well as the yard before leaving.

Denver tree service FAQs
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Denver?
Street trees in the tree lawn require a City Forester permit, and the company doing the work must be city-licensed. Private-property trees behind the sidewalk generally do not.
Which Denver neighborhoods do you cover?
Primarily the west and northwest side — Berkeley, Sloan's Lake, West Highland, Sunnyside, Jefferson Park, Regis and Edgewater.
Can you work with alley-only access?
Yes. Alley access is standard for us; the chipper sets up in the alley and everything is rigged and carried out rather than dropped.
