What professional tree care covers

From diagnosing and treating pests and diseases to providing ongoing plant health care, our team is dedicated to preserving the vitality and beauty of your trees. Regular care and proactive management not only enhance your landscape but also prevent future issues and extend the life of your trees.

We start with an on-site inspection of the canopy, trunk, root flare and soil. Symptoms rarely start where you first see them, so we diagnose the actual cause before recommending any treatment, then build a simple care plan you can follow between visits.

Emerald ash borer on the Front Range

EAB is established in the metro and ash is roughly one in six of our urban trees. A healthy ash with less than 30% canopy thinning is usually a strong candidate for treatment on a two-year cycle. Past that point, removal and replanting is the more honest recommendation.

Warning signs: thinning from the top down, D-shaped exit holes, epicormic sprouts at the base and heavy woodpecker flecking on the upper trunk.

Water, soil and the things that quietly kill trees

Colorado winters are dry. Trees need supplemental water roughly once a month from November through March on days above 40°F — this single habit prevents more decline than any product we could sell you.

We also check planting depth (the root flare should be visible at grade), girdling roots, mulch volcanoes against the trunk, and compaction from construction or parking. Deep root fertilization helps only when a soil test says the tree is actually short of something.

Tree Health & Plant Care FAQs

Can my ash tree be saved from emerald ash borer?

If the canopy is less than about 30% thinned, treatment on a two-year cycle is usually effective and far cheaper than removal plus replanting. Beyond that, we recommend removal.

Why is my tree losing leaves early?

In our climate the usual culprits are drought stress, planting depth, girdling roots or compacted soil — not disease. We check those first before recommending any spray or injection.

How much should I water an established tree?

Roughly 10 gallons per inch of trunk diameter, applied slowly at the drip line, twice a month in the growing season and once a month in winter on days above 40°F.

What this costs

Treatment is priced by trunk diameter and repeats on a cycle. The real question is whether your ash is still worth treating.
